As I sat down to write out an article this morning, I turned on some music as I am wont to do when writing. Often helps center me and get into the flow state of writing quicker. Quiet places in nature works also. Normally it is some type of instrumental. This morning there was some dialog at the beginning that caught my attention. “There are three types, the wills, the won’ts, and the can’ts. The wills accomplish everything, the won’ts appose everything, and the cants will not try anything.” I thought for a moment of which I am, and I turn the question back, which one are you?
The Wills set out goals, milestones, short and long term, then, the key thing after that is, they step forward and go after them. Full well knowing it could be years or a lifetime before they accomplish what they set off to do they go for it anyway. When life struggles jump out in front of them, it is no more than a challenge to go through. Yes, there are days when one stumble and may even fall. This is where surrounding yourself with like minded men will help you stay the course. Need help picking those men out read here on how to do it.
Now accomplishing everything is a large blanket statement and I believe you must be careful of what measuring stick your using. Failures are part of the learning curve to become better. What works and what does not on the trail to the end goal is the key in my opinion. Often men let all the failures start compounding to the point they only look at themselves as a loser, instead of looking at all the accomplishments that they have done along the way.
The won’ts who appose everything. I put in the category of men who have become hateful. Men who at one time were wills, that let life overwhelm them to the point they gave up trying. Thinking it easier to bring everyone around them down to their level. Their accomplishment is sowing destruction and chaos, not in a George Soros way where he has goals of destruction and chaos. These men have no pride in themselves or what they do. The small pleasures they take from tearing others down only continues to eat at them more.
The can’ts are the most annoying of the three. Not only will they not try anything outside the confines of their little safety bubble, they think talking about action is as good as doing the action themselves. I believe many work to portray that they are men of accomplishments. Working to show mundane things of life off as something special. When reality is that its just life. Showing how well they did in school setting, where life does not care if you got A or a D for a degree. If you never take the knowledge you learn and apply it. Then what is the point of learning it. I guess you can be career student and if that is your measuring stick good for you.
These are my opinions of the three types, your opinions may differ to a degree, I would say the core thought we can all agree on. Now the bigger question comes back to what type are you? Be brutality honest with yourself, make changes if needed, surround yourself with those that push you forward and eat crabs instead of letting crabs pull you back down.
