I have been talking mission and focus quite a bit lately as I have change mine own path that I am walking down. My writing is a reflection of these conversations I am having with my Fraternity Brothers, my Friends and Family. In many spheres of influence, we talk about both of these subjects. The hard part is I cannot teach ether of them to you. I can only show your through words and action. They are both something you must learn for yourself. At some point a switch is flipped, something clicks, an epiphany happens.
Now which comes first – the chicken or the egg – you need a mission to focus on and with singular focus you clearly see your mission. Yet if you are not being focused and intentional you will never come up with your mission in life. Hence a vicious feed back loop that you can get stuck in not seeing your mission and losing focus of what you want your mission to be. You at some point must break this stuck in a rut loop. Reach out and grab hold of a rope that is thrown to you, grasp that helping had that has been offered. You do not need to go it alone in life. There is strength in numbers – use it to your advantage.
What follows is some thoughts to others. When helping others out you help solidify your own thoughts on things. Ideas written down and discussed become stronger.
-In another conversation I just typed this, and it struck a note with me, thought I would pass it on
Spirit – being at peace with yourself and God, is the mental side holding you back
Mental – your spirit is unwell which makes you lose focus in the mental realms
Different ways of looking at it. Those answers only you know, they are in you.
The man I said this to has physical side doing well –
Here is my thought for the physical
Physical – if the body feels like crap – it works against the mental side and hinders you – which leads to a wound in your spirit.
The key to this – you have to use one of the 3 as foundation to build off of.
We have talked about this before. another viewpoint to consider. Interesting enough I am listening to my own words and reexamining.
I have posted about body, mind & spirit before, the balance of the three is important to over all mission. Thing is we forget about this balance, one of the best ways of remembering this, is to remind others of it and when you have a bad day or feeling weak, they can return the favor and remind you. Help you out of that low spot.
Your degree does not define who you are in the long run.
It can help you in certain fields of study, it could have been a complete waste of your time.
The one thing it does show is that you can have focus to accomplish a goal
Simple thought, changing things just slightly I can show how a getting a stupid degree can be turned into a positive. I have lost count of how many men haven’t gotten their degree in one thing to turn around and do something totally different. I am person that does not believe in the university system as society portrays it. On the other hand, it can be great tool if used correctly and with the right intentions.
Don’t ever let – whatever degree or lack of degree define what you can become. Make your own path in this world.
At some point you will have read all the books on self help you needed, you will have listen to all the podcast and audios till your ears bleed. You will have absorbed so much information that you will start to forget what you learned. At some point you must stop consuming and start creating. Start small, simply write a post or short essay, build a bird house or a table, create an grow a garden. Then work to do bigger things, in time your focus will strengthen your mission will become clear.
