When you figure out that your favorite Guru was lying to you all along do not go into a blind rage, ranting, gnashing your teeth. Why? because if he told you the truth you would not of listen to him in the first place. The truth is often boring, hard work, takes discipline, and there is so many lies being slung around its often hard to even see what is truthful. When the day comes and you realize your favorite guru lied, start looking for the kernel of truth that he started his lie from. For that is the meat of the matter and which even if he does not realize it, is where he is leading you to.
What gives credibility to a guru over you own parents, friends, mentors. Did they write a book on the subject? Did they live what they are preaching? What have they truly done that you are willing to put your faith in the words they are spewing?
How come when someone close to you said it, you blew it off. May have gotten you thinking, yet you put very little credit in the words. Specially if it was the truth. When the big-name guru says it, you take it hook – line – sinker. Running around preaching it yourself, like it is the new gospel.
Stop and think about what you are reading and listening to, digest it and filter out the truths that are wrapped up in all the lies.
The average person in this world cannot handle the truth even when slapped in the face with it. That is why the most successful guru’s start with a lie, this is the hook to bring you in, to hear more and get interested in what they are offering. They keep feeding you tidbits, as you start to learn more, you start seeing through the lies and start getting closer to the truth. Then one day you come to realization of what the truth is. That light bulb comes on. You go – I knew this all along why did it take me forever to get this point.
Few humans can resist the urge of a to good to be true statement. People need to recognize the lie for what it is – the bait – then see if it leads to answers that you are looking for or if its just a pile of horseshit.
Now I can shorten this path for you quickly. Look in the mirror, the answers to a good majority of your questions will stare back at you. That is simple right? You already know the answer to your own questions, however there is a fear of facing them head on. Whereas a guru tells you something and holds your hand as you walk down that path of fear to find the answer.
Think of it this way, ever work with children. We want them to push their boundaries and in doing that we lie to them all the time. Simple as walking across a balancing beam or riding a bike without training wheels. We tell them they will be ok that they can do it. Reality is they are going to fall down, skin knees and elbows as they learn to conquer the obstacles.
I know the argument of – no I am not lying to them. Yes you are, now if you want to go the longer path of saying ok, there is chance you will fall, get hurt, and the list of what could go wrong, then work to come back to the point of saying you can overcome this challenge. That would be closer to the truth. On a smaller scale this works, to the masses and hive minds it seldom does.
Be honest with yourself, realize most of what you hear and read is a lie. Look for the truths. Discover truths for yourself. Continue to build on them. It will open your eyes to much of the world. The Only Thing Stopping You Is You
